1. I think so because vmfs-fuse was able to mount the volume - it usually complains if the magic number is missing
2. Yes - the .*.sf files are visible and the newly created directory tree is displayed
the directories in the directory tree are all empty and the creation time shows that they were created within 2 seconds - way to fast to consider that a human created them with mkdir commands
3. unknown - I checked the logs and saw that there was a reboot some hours before the issue was noticed
The customer told me that there had not been a scheduled reboot
